Welcome to our world

For years we have both made our living in photography.  It is something we wake up to and are involved with every day.  Our jobs are photography, our friends are photographers, our books and travels are about photography.
We also both love animals, nature and the ocean. It is reflected in our home by the ocean and in our menagerie of rescued pets. We try to instill this passion in our photography.  When we travel, it is always to where the wild things are-- and the camera gear is always packed first. We hope these images reflect our passion for the art of photography and our love of nature and wildlife. We hope that as you browse the galleries you will enjoy our photographs as much as we enjoy making them.

Paula Frier

Paula PhotoPaula first discovered her passion for photography while working for Covenant House in 1986, caring for impoverished children in the slums of Central America. She spent much of her spare time photographing the local people and places.

Returning to her hometown of Plymouth, Mass. in 1990, she trained in photography with Ken and Nancy Green, two amazing portrait and wedding photographers.

In 1992 she moved to New York City and by chance met an extraordinary man, who was a staff photographer for The New York Times and the subject of the Academy Award Winning film  “The Killing Fields.” His name was Dith Pran. With a recommendation from Pran she was hired to work in the NY Times photo lab where she remained on staff learning photojournalism from the best photographers and photo editors in the business.

Paula chose to move on from the Times in 1999 and relocated to Los Angeles where she and Scott were married. Later that year she was hired by the Associated Press where she enhanced her talents in photo editing and multimedia production. Due to a company reorganization her role at the AP was eliminated in December of 2009.

Today she finds herself getting "around-to-it" on many personal projects and creative pursuits.
